Our School Vision & Values

'Creating new possibilities for our future, with compassion in our hearts and courage on our journey'.

At the heart of our school’s vision lies a simple but powerful belief: that education is not just about preparing students for exams, but about shaping the future with courage, compassion and creativity.

Together, we are committed to creating new possibilities for our children. We believe that every student carries the potential to make a meaningful impact in the world, and it is our collective responsibility to nurture that potential with care and vision. Our classrooms are not just spaces for learning facts, but places where creativity is sparked, character is built, and hope is grown.

Compassion remains central to everything we do. We aim to cultivate a learning environment where empathy, respect, and kindness guide interactions—not only between students and teachers, but throughout our entire school community. It is through this compassion that we empower our students to care deeply about others and the world around them.

At the same time, we know that the journey ahead is one that requires courage. In a rapidly changing world, our children will face complex challenges—and great opportunities. We are dedicated to helping them build resilience, embrace curiosity, and step forward bravely, even when the path is uncertain.

We invite you to walk this journey with us. With compassion in our hearts and courage in our steps, we will help our children shape a future that is bright, inclusive, and full of possibility.

Our Christian ethos values underpin the Christian distinctiveness of SJTB Primary School and are intertwined in all we do – through our Collective Worship, celebrating learning and personal achievements, embracing world faiths and views and welcoming visitors into our happy school.

In September 2024, we worked with all stakeholders to agree on our school Christian ethos values. Following discussions with staff, governors, parents and children it was decided that our Christian ethos values should be:

As a Church school, we are aware of our deeply Christian character, and although we acknowledge that these values can be seen as Christian, they are not exclusively so, and we believe they are accepted by people of all faiths or no faith at all.  Through Collective Worship, we explore the Christian ethos values, reflect on how they are exemplified in Bible and fiction stories and during the school day adults make reference to the values so that children understand the meaning of these as applied to their own lives.
