September 2026 Year R Admissions: 

Application & notification dates for admissions in September 2026

If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2025. All information can be found on the Hampshire County Council School Admissions website pages: www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions 

You can apply from 1 November 2025. You can name 3 schools on your application in order of preference. If your child qualifies for a place at more that one of the schools on your application, the school ranked highest on your application will be allocated. To apply please visit https://www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions

The deadline for applications is the 15th January 2026. 

Parents will be notified of their child's allocated school on 16th April 2026. You will then be invited to accept your child's school place.

Following the notification date in April, we will send you a bumper welcome pack and write to all parents to welcome you to the SJTB Primary School family and detail all our transition events for you to attend.

Speak with the Headteacher to discuss your child's learning journey at SJTB Primary School

Governor Vacancies: 

We are currently seeking 2 co-opted Governors to join our Governing body. For further information, please see the advert below.  

Are you passionate about education and making a difference in your community?
We are seeking a two committed individual to join our governing board as a co-opted governor.

About the Role

Co-opted governors are appointed by the board for the skills and experience they can bring. You do not need to have any previous experience in education—just a willingness to contribute, learn, and support our school’s success.

What does a governor do?

  • Works with other board members to set the school’s strategic direction

  • Holds senior leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

  • Oversees the financial performance of the school and ensures money is well spent

Who can apply?

Anyone aged 18 or over, who is not disqualified under the statutory eligibility criteria, can be a co-opted governor. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are particularly interested in skills such as  finance, HR, legal, data analysis, premises management, etc. 

If you are a current parent of a child at SJTB Primary School, we recommend applying for a Parent Governor position. At this point in time there are no Parent Governor vacancies however if you are interested in the role please make the school office aware for future vacancies.

Commitment

The role typically requires 6-8 hours per month (term time only), including meetings, reading papers, and school visits. Full training and support are provided.
